Early Math Skills for Children: “Counting Fall Leaves”

Although I am no longer teaching early childhood learners in the classroom I am still very much into theme lesson plans, resources, and activities that keep young children engaged. Since it’s Fall that means leaves that are various hues of orange, brown, red, and gold.

In this post I am sharing a early childhood math lesson that engages children to count Fall leaves from numbers 1-20. The skills in this video will help early learners recognize numerals, number quantity, and provide assistance in verbally counting forward from 1-20.

After watching this video you can expound on this lesson in several ways. Here are just a few examples.

Enjoy learning together and please share this post with an Early Childhood Teacher or parent. Happy Fall!
