Have A After Dark Game Night

Put the kids to bed and have some fun together. Grab your favorite snacks and lock your bedroom door. If you worry about the kids listening just turn on a little upbeat music or a tv show. The kids will likely ignore that you are having fun. Here are a few adult games that you and your spouse may enjoy together.

Skip Work for The Day

Yes, my husband and I skip work sometimes while the kids are at school so that we can go out to a nice restaurant or a movie. Taking a day off to reconnect is much easier than asking for a sitter or hiring a sitter. This is also the perfect opportunity to transform your home briefly for a romantic date day inside. Turn the music up, laugh loudly, and have a really good time together.

Have An Outdoor Date Night

Head outdoors to enjoy your time alone as a couple. This will require one person to get the kids to bed while the other preps the outdoor space. Depending upon the season you can incorporate different ways to creatively entertain one another. Spring time dates outdoors can be so romantic. The flowers are blooming and mosquitos are not in full feast mode, making it a great way to have an outdoor picnic in your yard or a meal on your deck or patio. In the Summer a pool with illuminated water lights for a night swim together is fun. In the Fall and Winter a nice evening in front of a fire pit making smores is a great way to do something youthful and fun with one another. You can add wine and finger foods as well, but take precaution while drinking near a pool. Don’t forget to keep a close eye out for younger kids with the help of a indoor camera such as the Blink mini or a Nooie baby monitor. Here are few items that you may need to pull everything off perfectly.

Have a Movie Night

Put the kids to bed and enjoy a movie together. This is an opportunity for you to cuddle or settle down with a few laughs or ideas depending upon the movie that you watch. Don’t forget the snacks and movie candy.

There are so many different ways that you can have date night or day together without the help of a babysitter. Make dating a priority by marking it on your calendar and sticking to it often.
