A Safer Way To Live With Food Allergies

When my son was three years old I got an urgent call from his preschool. It felt as if I was driving on two wheels to get to his preschool. This was the day that I truly realized the severity of food allergies. I am thankful that my son’s mild food allergy has not affected his life.

According to Food Allergy.Org, “An estimated 32 million Americans have food allergies.” For new parents, it can be extremely overwhelming to discover that your child has a food allergy(ies). You have to be mindful of what you keep away from your child but also what others keep away from them as well.

I’m so pleased that many food brands are becoming aware of the need for clear and concise food labels. It helps parents and caregivers make informed decisions about ingredients that could be deadly to their children or themselves. It can be a challenging task to figure out what is safe to eat at home, school, or restaurants. It’s important to make sure that you are getting good information for your family.
