I’m not an expert on the long-term effects that many of the ingredients listed in hair care products will have on our health. I’ve learned that natural is always better, but not always affordable. I want to share with you some of my favorite hair oils that are free of mineral oil, paraben, and petrolatum. The most amazing thing about them all is that they are under $10. Yea!
OGX Extra Strength Moroccan Penetrating Oil for Dry & Coarse Hair
This oil works amazingly for my sometimes dry hair. With its concentrated ingredients, it can be used every other day or daily if necessary.
Africa’s Best Ultimate Herbal Oil
I’ve been using this oil since my college days. It is amazing! You can also use it on your skin. I’ve occasionally used it on my legs and feet.
OGX Moroccan Argan Weightless Healing Oil
If you like to wear your natural hair straight this is the oil for you. It’s lightweight and smells so good. Whenever I wear a silk press, this is the only oil that I use on my hair. It keeps the frizz and fly away strands in full check without weighing my hair down.
OGX Coconut Milk Anti Breakage Serum
The coconut smell in this product is so divine. I use this on my hair every time I shampoo and before I apply any styling products. I recently added this into my staple of products about two months ago, but it’s definitely a keeper. I’ve even used it on my daughter’s fine curls after shampooing. It gave her curls an amazing sheen. I love that it’s all natural and gentle enough for her skin and mine.
Carol’s Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Shine Pomade
This isn’t your typical pomade that was popular in the 60’s. No, this hair honey is lightweight, heals, and moisturizes a dry and itchy scalp. Before seeking help from my dermatologist for my scalp issues, this was my go-to product. It would gently calm my scalp and also moisturized my kinks and curls. My issues were health-related and were the actual cause for my scaly scalp, but I kept this as a staple in my go-to hair products.
