Road trips with kids can make wonderful memories and are fun when the entertainment is just right. However, when the movies run out, and the songs become too repetitive, your family may become aggravated and short-tempered with one another.
I don’t have a feel-good playlist for you, but Spotify is a great app with playlists that cater to your mood and age groups. Another great way to enjoy your road trip is to introduce your kiddos to podcasts.
Podcasts for younger people is great because it requires them to slow down, listen, and comprehend. I think it also encourages their imagination to work and this makes the podcast even more enjoyable. Here are a few that you and your family may enjoy for your next road trip.
For the Toddlers and Young Children (7 and Younger): Ear Snacks, Storynory & Sesame Street
For Kids & Tweens (8 and Older)
Ooh! You’re In Trouble, Stories Podcast, What if World & BrainsOn, Hey Black Child: The Podcast
For Teens (13 and older) Ted Talks Daily, Mental Music , All Songs Considered: NPR
As always, you should use your own discretion in what you actually play in your car or home. Some selections in the Teens podcasts are not suitable for younger listeners. Please see my disclosure & disclaimer.
