Pigeon Forge has become one of my family’s favorite weekend getaway destinations. With just a short drive from Alabama, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of the Smoky Mountains while experiencing plenty of family-friendly attractions, delicious food, and a little time to relax.

Whether we’re exploring the mountain scenery, visiting our favorite attractions, or simply enjoying time together, Pigeon Forge always gives us something new to experience.
After spending the day walking, shopping, and enjoying the rides at The Island, we had definitely worked up an appetite. While there are plenty of quick snacks like popcorn, pretzels, and hot dogs available throughout the park, we were ready for a full meal before continuing our day.
Since it was lunchtime, many of the restaurants had a wait. Fortunately, Timberwood Grill was able to seat us much sooner than the others, making it an easy choice. We were hungry, ready to take a break from the southern heat, and looking forward to good food. I’m happy to share that Timberwood Grill delivered just that.

After snapping a few photos beside the restaurant’s signature grizzly bear statue, we were seated promptly and greeted by our server, who quickly took our drink orders.
To start our meal, we shared the Campfire Queso. It had a creamy, smoky flavor with a subtle kick of spice. It gave it enough flavor without being overwhelming.

For the main course, both of my children ordered the Ribs and Chicken Tenders. One paired theirs with the lemon basil rice, while the other opted for a double order of fries. My husband ordered the Baby Back Ribs with a side of fries, and I ordered the Fish and Chips with a side of fries and green beans.

Considering how busy the restaurant was during lunchtime, our food arrived surprisingly quickly. The portions were generous, and our server remained attentive throughout the meal, making sure our drinks stayed filled and that we had everything we needed.
