I love wearing my hair natural. I decided to embrace my hair sans relaxer almost 9 years ago. What I picked up from reading natural hair blogs, magazines, and from the advice of other women was that I would need to have a staple of products in my bathroom to maintain my natural hair. This was not necessary. I was a self-professed product junkie, but not anymore. I’ve slowly learned that my hair grows and thrives with just a few simple and inexpensive products.
I believe that healthy hair care begins with my health. Drinking an appropriate amount of water every day is great for flushing out toxins. A daily multivitamin will provide the proper nutrients for a healthy scalp and skin, therefore, aiding in actual hair growth. I believe that all-natural hair women have to find a regimen and products that work for them.

My regimen is simple. I shampoo my hair once a week using a medicated shampoo for my scalp dermatitis. I follow up with a deep conditioner or a hot oil treatment and sometimes I use both on the same day. When I wear my hair in its naturally curly texture I apply a leave-in conditioner that also happens to double as my styler. I always use a holding gel to style my hair in two-strand twists or a wash and go. When my hair is completely dry I use natural hair oil to seal in the moisture.
